Beginnings are important. That’s why I want to ring in the new year feeling beautiful, elegant, and confident. This NYE outfit does just that. It also represents some of my all-time favorite style inspirations. Gentlemanly tailoring is polished. The satin bustier is sleek and strikes that intimatewear-as-outerwear tone which is, admittedly, a fine line. A few pretty touches add softness.

The bustier is by Gok Wan, purchased at Simply Be a long time ago. Trouser is a few years old from ASOS. Ming Wang sent me this luxe cardi and I love the oversized fit, texture, and shimmer. This one is perfect for making an entrance and relishing your dramatic, shoulder-baring reveal. Clutch is Ranna Gill and shoes are J. Crew. These pieces had all been sitting in my closet just waiting to be worn together—a fashion aha moment. Let it be a reminder to never stop playing in your wardrobe.

The holidays are here! This year, I’m committed to getting my Christmas shopping done early. Now that I’m a mom doing the gift getting for my family, I see how hectic this part of the holiday can feel. (Note to self: call mom and thank her.) This year, I’m trying something new and putting myself at the top of my list as a fun way to kick off my holiday shopping.

Here’s how it went! I decided to look for something I need for this chilly weather (this short jacket), something fun (this fur pom accessory), and something bright (this matte pink lip color.) I stuck to fashion and beauty but you could do this with anything: that new book you’re curious about, a cute print for your office, a month of yoga studio membership, etc. Basically, cross yourself off the list!

To show the versatility of my picks, I put together two outfits. One is a dressier look with satin trousers and and gold-toe pumps. The other is casual with marled grey joggers and a loose pink scarf.

Pink and emerald look amazing together! I think these adorable fur poms make my accessories look extra luxe (like, my accessories have accessories.) This jacket is one of my favorite AVA and VIV pieces to date—short and sweet and warm. Dark denim and feminine textures make up one of my favorite looks for fall. These dark wash jeggings (AKA a cross between jeans and leggings) are super soft and comfy. They’re from the Jennifer Lopez collection at Kohl’s (thanks, J. Lo!) Lightweight denim is so perfect for relaxed days. Just add some cozy layers and your favorite hot beverage. My local cafe makes a yummy lavender-vanilla latte—mm!

If you’re like me, you relish fall transition and get the most out of your summer pieces. This oversized lace top is a perfect example. It can be layered over or under something else to make it autumn-approved. In this case, I ventured over to the the Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl’s (which is ADORABLE.) It’s straight-size, but sizes xl/14/16 work for me. Other options run through xxl or 18.

I’m obsessed with this blush faux suede jacket! It’s super supple and hello, rose gold hardware. You know I love a romantic, but still easy-to-wear, outfit. I’ve already remixed all these pieces in different ways during my week.
