Halloween Edition!
I think of October as a spooky month. Some of my favorite memories are of me trick-or-treating through my neighborhood on Halloween. There is something so electric about the air on that night. I love this time of year. I think this holiday is fun from a fashion perspective in that people feel more adventurous with what they can wear on this day. I love seeing people dress up!
This year, I might...
A Little Frost
Coming up I have outfit posts about “Haunted Fatshion” which are going to be lots of fun! But for now, I wanted to share these darling pieces of jewelry from Lulu Frost. I love the incorporation of ribbon and use of color. Princess inspired indeed! There is a sale on Gilt right now, so if you love them, head over soon!
A loved one saw me admiring the peach heart earrings (my...
Princess
As a child, when I saw Sara Crewe in the film “A Little Princess,” I knew I had found a style icon. The story was magical and the girl’s wardrobe was mostly exquisite. As a young girl living in a world quite different from the one in which I live now, I was moved by Sara saying, “I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in...
Manolo Blahnik
Ever since I saw Carrie gush over the urban legend Manolo maryjanes, I knew someday I would have to have a pair. These aren’t the exact style from SATC, since these have a higher strap, but they are still so so cute. The leather is delicate and gorgeous. I don’t think the color comes out the same on all browsers, but they are a soft blush pink. I must say, these feel more Charlotte...
Fall Favorite: Bows in Hair
This will be my first installment of fall favorites! I will be showing my favorite colors, textures, and pieces for fall. I was inspired to do this by Xtina’s latest post on fall inspiration. Love Xtina!
I got a fantastic new headband this week. It’s large and I got a few stares when I wore it out today, but it’s so so cute, I can’t help but love it. I was drawn to this...
Fringe
Have you ever had leggings that you loved but weren’t opaque enough to wear out? I recently started doing something I should have started a long time ago. Layering leggings!
I layered these fringe leggings on top of my regular black leggings and the problem was solved. These leggings are so cool, the fringe moves when I walk and they have a cute cowgirl appeal. I paired these with a check...
Night Sky
Hello everyone! Here are a few shots of my outfit tonight. In putting together an outfit I knew I would post, I felt compelled to share my new Dorothy Perkins tights, which are so much fun! I wanted to balance the tights with more demure pieces—mainly my jacket and bag. This new pink bag is a blatant Chanel “inspiration” I found at Asos. It is so soft and cute though, I love it!...

A Little Drama
I was inspired to post this outfit by xtina’s post on Musings about dramatic fashion. Her post featured many dramatic sunglasses, so I figured I would post my sort of impractical Chanel shades. This is my second pair, after I accidentally left my first pair in a restroom on campus. When I ran back a few minutes later they were gone! So, someone made off with my $500 glasses! I was so...
Sunny Day
Today was really sunny and rather warm, so I figured I should go for a casual look as I go run errands and have lunch. Plaid shirts are still all over the place, Evans and Dorothy Perkins have some particularly cute ones. Pair one with some thick heels to dress it up a bit or wear some flats and go on a picnic. Don’t forget your cute sunglasses!
Top: Old Navy, Jeans: Asos, Shoes: Dries...
Animal Print Remix
Today I’m wearing this animal print dress as a top. Since the material is thin and the dress is banded, it was very easy to just fold it in. If you are hesitant to wear a print, a short jacket can be a good way to balance one. I love these Miu Miu wedges, they are so sleek and comfortable considering the height. See a picture of the heels here.
I also want to introduce my kitty, Mittens....
Mint & Sugar
One of my favorite color combinations is mint and pink. I wore this to have lunch at the Rotunda in San Francisco, which is a restaurant on top of Neiman Marcus that overlooks Union Square. The food and view make for a wonderful afternoon in the city.
The last time I featured this skirt, I had paired it with a leather jacket. Here, next to another pastel color, it looks even more like some kind...
Purple Silk Bows
I love my sister—she is quite petite and thin though, so she shops at places I cannot. We were in a boutique in Los Angeles and she convinced me to get this little waistcoat. It belongs to a line called “Meghan.” The line is popular with young starlets and it does not go beyond a size 12. This waistcoat is adjustable though, so it can fit larger sizes.
Whenever I see it in my...
Makeup Post
Sometimes I get emails about makeup. Are you interested in more makeup posts? I do love makeup and I think of it as important part of my outfits. Here is the kind of makeup I wear for a night when I am likely to have my picture taken.
I love Makeup Forever HD Foundation because it leaves my face looking smooth and flawless. It’s a bit much for day (for me) but so perfect for night....
Rose Gold
My Pour la Victoire heels came. Love them! However, I ordered two sizes and I’m glad I did because these are a little too big. I’m very picky about heels fitting perfectly, so I will wait to post an outfit until I get the other smaller pair in the mail. Yay!
The leather is soft and the studs are very shiny. The color is slightly more pink than appeared online, but I still love them...
Leather and Locks
I’m going out tonight in all black outfit, which I have not done in a while. Well, I think the lip color and the soles of my heels are nice red accents though.
I really needed a boost today, so I go my hair done. It’s hard to see the difference in the picture, but my stylist warmed up my color, got rid of my old highlights, and of course, gave me bangs again. It feels chic and...
Parisian Feel
Some days I like to dress according to a certain mood or theme. Today I’m in a sort of Parisian mood I guess, which usually means wearing something sleek, put together, and charming. But I also have errands to run today so I wanted to keep it casual.
This darling top is from H&M. I love the little bows on the fake pockets and the black trim. The shoes are from Dorothy Perkins via ebay,...
Shoegasm!
I was about to walk out of the store when I spotted these in a corner and my heart fluttered. I was under the impression that these Marciano sandals were sold out long ago. But here they were! The only pair.
Now, I don’t normally buy sandals like these. However, I might be going away on a short trip soon. The details are being worked out, but it’s going to have sun and beaches. These...
Library Fashion and Hair Question
Yesterday someone asked me about what I wear on a daily basis. I guess I go for a dressed up casual look if I have to be on campus. Today I’m wearing black jeggings, a cream ruffle top, denim jacket, and Sigerson Morrison shoes.
My accessory of the day is the Federal Reporter, pictured in the background. I tried to do a full body shot but someone discovered me! OMG it was funny. The law...
Shoulders
I’m feeling better these days. Thank you so much to the people who sent me emails with get-well-soon wishes.
I love getting emails from readers, so feel free to write to me: fatshionable@gmail.com. I’m always up to chat, answer questions, or hear your thoughts on trends, plus size fashion, or just fashion in general.
Today I thought I would wear a soft version of strong shoulders....
Denim Jacket
I get emails about my thoughts on “wardrobe essentials,” usually from people who are looking to revamp their style. I do believe there are fashion classics, but I would only bother getting them if they are suitable to your environment and personal style.
Here is one example of a wardrobe classic that I did without for a long time. The denim jacket is a slice of americana and a key...
