I love when clothes have little details that indicate to you that the designer was thoughtful. A well placed button, a swarovski cystal, a touch of lace—each can elevate a garment or shoe. Usually these details are small and maybe you will be the only person who knows they’re there. But sometimes these details are more obvious and can set you apart in a crowd.
Just got two pairs of leggings from Forever 21. I don’t shop there much because the store in SF is so big I feel like I will spend two hours just getting through the whole thing. But it can be a place to find inexpensive and cute additions to your closet. The quality may be lacking, but it’s pretty good if you’re trying to limit your spending.
These fringed leggings will add a little cowgirl chic to my outfits. When I was a kid, my mom had a cream leather jacket with fringe on the arms that in retrospect, was pretty fabulous. So this is my way of channeling some of her style from then! I plan on wearing these with a loose plaid button up and dress up the look with my dries heels. They look amazing when seated (as the model shows) but think of the movement when you walk! Head turning leggings? Yes plz!
These next leggings have a great seam detail. They’re from F21’s “Cirque” collection and they are the leggings version of seamed hose, which I love. I want these precisely because they call attention—this post is about being set apart! I want to pair these with a long tunic/minidress to show off the heart trimming. The tunic+leggings approach can look a little unfinished though, so I would add a short jacket (maybe my biker jacket?) for some structure. Would be cute with flats but even cuter with heels!
